John Entsminger at LVGEA Board of Trustees Breakfast in Jan.

Entsminger is Considered a Leading Candidate to Replace Retiring Water Chief Pat Mulroy

(Las Vegas) – The Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA) today announced that Southern Nevada Water Authority’s Senior Deputy General Manager John Entsminger will be the keynote speaker at the Jan. 14, 2014 Board of Trustees’ Breakfast and Networking Business Meeting.

A buffet breakfast and networking will begin at 7 a.m., with the business meeting to follow at 7:30 a.m.

The event takes place in the Acacia Ballroom at the Four Seasons Hotel, 3960 S. Las Vegas Blvd.  Tickets are $45 each for LVGEA investors, and $55 each for non-investors.  To reserve a seat, call (702) 791-0000 or e-mail VeronicaT@lvgea.org by Jan. 10.  Seating is limited and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Entsminger has been with the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) and Las Vegas Valley Water District (LVVWD) since 1999, and is the chief deputy to outgoing water chief Pat Mulroy. Earlier this year, Mulroy announced her intention to retire in early 2014.

In his role as Senior Deputy General Manager, Entsminger oversees the operations of both the SNWA and the LVVWD.  Entsminger was instrumental in the negotiations that led to the 2007 Colorado River Interim Guidelines, and is SNWA’s lead negotiator on Colorado River matters. He has played a significant role in multiple interstate and intrastate processes that help protect Southern Nevada’s water resources, and he looks to continue those efforts after Mulroy’s departure in early 2014.

Entsminger is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and legal studies. He also attended the University of Colorado Law School and was the recipient of the Charles N. Woodruff Fellowship for demonstrating academic excellence in natural resources law.
