LVGEA Expands Three Companies at SNV, Bringing 237 New Jobs

LAS VEGAS — With the assistance of the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA), three companies—Ryze Renewables, Scientific Games and eCig Distributors—will expand in Southern Nevada and are projected to create 237 total jobs over the next five years. The companies were approved for incentives during the Governor’s Office of Economic Development board meeting, which took place today at the Grant Sawyer State Office Building.

Since January, the LVGEA has assisted with the expansion and relocation of 11 companies, helping to create 2,322 throughout Southern Nevada.

Ryze Renewables Las Vegas, LLC

With plans to bring 67 jobs to the region and nearly $150 million in capital expenditures, Ryze Renewables Las Vegas, LLC will receive over $9 million in tax abatements in ten years as it plans to acquire and refurbish an existing biodiesel processing facility in North Las Vegas. With a location in Reno and throughout the U.S., production for the company specializing in the manufacturing of renewable diesel is expected to begin in Southern Nevada in fall 2018.

Ryze Renewables’ process utilizes a unique patented technology that introduces hydrogen within a hydrotreating reactor more efficiently than competing companies. It plans to manufacture 100 percent renewable diesel converted from distiller’s corn oil, esters, fatty acids or other non-food renewable feedstock.

The company will occupy a biodiesel processing facility in North Las Vegas that has an extensive existing infrastructure, but is not currently producing fuel. The facility will create 4,5000 barrels per day—or 60,000,000 gallons per year—of drop-in renewable diesel. Once production begins in 2018, the renewable diesel produced at this facility will be sold through distributors outside of the state.

Scientific Games, Inc.

Scientific Games, Inc. will expand its existing operations in Southern Nevada as it plans to hire 80 new employees in highly skilled positions in five years, with an hourly wage of $30 an hour.

After fully transitioning from a merger with Bally Gaming, Inc. and WSM Industries, Inc., Scientific Games will make a total capital investment of $14 million dollars to develop key local assets into transforming its headquarters into a world-class campus. As part of the project, it will renovate two buildings in Las Vegas where 1,200 of its personnel will be consolidated into the new campus. Furthermore, this new campus will allow Scientific Games to recruit top tier talent from the community and abroad.

Headquartered in Las Vegas, Scientific Games is a leading innovator in the global lottery and regulated gaming industries, serving more than 300 customers from advanced-technology manufacturing and operational facilities around the world. With this expansion in Southern Nevada, Scientific Games will be able to continue driving innovation, focus on prudent fiscal management and further enhance company culture.
