LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA), in partnership with its Perspective Council sponsors, hosted the 45th annual Las Vegas Perspective, Southern Nevada’s largest economic development event at ARIA Resort & Casino on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Local community, business, and elected leaders were in attendance as distinguished speakers shared valuable findings and resources.

The two hour-long program highlighted the Las Vegas region’s market trends, insight into Nevada’s economic trajectory, and what they mean for Southern Nevada’s continued growth.
“Las Vegas Perspective continues to be a vital platform for understanding the dynamic forces shaping our region’s future,” said Lauri Perdue, board president of LVGEA. “This year’s event reflects the innovation, resilience and collaboration that define Southern Nevada. From the rise of financial innovation to the acceleration of a modern economy, it’s a clear reminder that our region is not just keeping pace with change but driving long-term prosperity.”
Jeremy Aguero, principal analyst with Applied Analysis, shared critical insights on Southern Nevada’s economic growth over the past year and a forecast of what the region can expect moving forward.
Aguero underscored the complex challenges currently facing Southern Nevada’s economy and tourism industry. While visitation is down, he emphasized that Las Vegas has a proven history of resilience and reinvention. Rising living costs and extended timelines to achieve homeownership are straining both residents and workers, while visitors are voicing growing frustration over high resort prices and overall affordability. Aguero urged leaders to pay attention to this feedback and take deliberate action to ensure Las Vegas remains a premier destination.

“This community is no stranger to challenges, we’ve always faced them, “said Aguero. “But time and time again, we’ve solved them. We’ve opened properties, which no one thought possible, built pipelines, the Convention Center, The Smith Center, a model for any city. We’ve constructed stadiums and spheres, and we host events like no one else. In the end, it’s the choices we make as a community that will define our future.”
Additionally, incoming LVGEA CEO and President, Danielle Casey, joined LVGEA Chairwoman, Lauri Perdue, in a fireside chat where she introduced herself to the community and expressed her excitement to begin leading the organization.

“I plan to begin with a comprehensive listening tour, getting to know the team, gathering feedback on what’s working, what matters most, and what is not working,” said Casey. “By the end of the year, I expect us to have a clear and collective direction on the policies we want to move forward with. Living in this community is completely different from visiting as a tourist. I already have a deep love and affinity for this place, and I’m excited to officially lead the team.”
Visa’s commitment to shaping the future of commerce was front and center as Chris Baker, Senior Vice President and Head of U.S. Merchant, delivered the closing keynote. He spoke about how digital payments and emerging technologies are creating more intuitive, personalized, and secure experiences for consumers—especially in travel and e-commerce.

“Consumers today expect more than convenience—they expect experiences that feel tailored, effortless, and secure,” said Baker. “Artificial intelligence is helping us meet that expectation by turning data into meaningful insights. Whether it’s recommending the perfect getaway or streamlining the checkout process, AI is making commerce smarter and more personal—without compromising security or trust.”
Las Vegas Perspective is the region’s go-to source for community and economic development information, analysis, and forecasting. The event and accompanying data book have become a valuable resource for a diverse group of companies and organizations, both large and small, in the region.
