LVGEA Welcomes Cox Investor in SNV Economic Growth

LAS VEGAS  — The Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA), a public-private partnership focused on growing the economy in Southern Nevada, is very pleased to announce a three-year, $500,000 commitment from Cox Communications-Las Vegas to support the LVGEA’s regional economic development, business recruitment, research and outreach efforts. This substantial commitment from Cox Las Vegas represents the single largest investment in LVGEA-led economic development efforts this year and qualifies the telecom company as a Pinnacle Level investor in the LVGEA.

Michael Bolognini, market vice president of Cox Communications-Las Vegas, noted, “Cox is immensely proud of its long-term view on economic growth in Southern Nevada and is thoroughly committed to its vision as evidenced by this three-year pledge to support the LVGEA. We’re a community company and we believe in the economic strength that business leaders and their organizations can create when they work together.”

Cox Las Vegas has supported Southern Nevada’s regional economic development efforts since 2001. In addition, Derrick R. Hill, vice president of Cox Business / Hospitality Network, became a member of the LVGEA Board of Directors in October 2014 and was subsequently voted into an Executive Committee role in 2015. Cox Business is the business-to-business division of Cox Communications.

“I’m exuberant about the expansion of our role and responsibility with the LVGEA,” said Hill. “We began our initial support over a dozen years ago and are now making significant leadership and financial contributions to this influential business organization.”

“Cox Communications has made a major commitment to economic development in Southern Nevada, and we will be able to leverage that commitment to conduct quality research, showcase our region in various markets, and ultimately do more to help businesses expand or relocate here,” said Jonas Peterson, CEO of the LVGEA. “This is a huge win for us, and we’re all thankful that Cox is doing so much to help our regional economy.”

The LVGEA provides six levels of investment opportunity for its members beginning with Investor Level followed by Trustee’s Council, Leadership, Champion, Presidential and Pinnacle Level. Pinnacle Level investors are an elite group that contributes substantially to the LVGEA. In addition to contributing financially, a Pinnacle Level member is recognized with this honor because its efforts remove barriers and provide access to services that the LVGEA would not be able to receive otherwise.
