As Nevada continues to grow, so does the opportunity to diversify our economy and strengthen communities. With this growth comes a rising demand for safe, reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy sources. At Southwest Gas, we’re proud to help meet that need, fueling homes, supporting businesses, and enabling innovation across Nevada through safe, efficient natural gas service.

Powering Progress and Possibility

Natural gas plays a vital role in helping Nevada attract and retain key industries. While tourism and hospitality remain cornerstones of its economy, Nevada is also experiencing strong growth in hospitality, health care, advanced manufacturing, and technology. To support this progress, we work closely with municipalities, economic development organizations, regulators, and city planners to ensure that new and expanding businesses have access to energy solutions tailored to their operational needs.

A prime example is the expansion of natural gas service to more than 1,200 customers in Mesquite and Spring Creek, made possible through the passage of Senate Bill 151 in 2015. This legislation enabled Crown Holdings, Inc., an aluminum beverage can manufacturer, to establish operations in Mesquite, bringing over 120 skilled jobs and strengthening the city’s position as an emerging industrial hub. Infrastructure investments like this don’t just deliver energy, they help build strong, sustainable communities.

Additionally, Southwest Gas is collaborating with businesses in the rapidly growing West Henderson, Nevada area that provide essential and innovative services to our community. Fueled by natural gas, the newly opened 150-bed West Henderson Hospital campus features around-the-clock emergency care, advanced heart procedures, and in-house laboratory, radiology, pharmacy and therapy departments.  The campus utilizes natural gas for functions such as water heating, space heating, and equipment sterilization, which often requires high temperatures.

Southwest Gas is also working with machine tool builder and manufacturer HAAS Automation to support their new 277-acre development in Henderson. The project is expected to bring significant commercial, industrial, and educational opportunities to the region.

In North Las Vegas, Southwest Gas is supporting the development of the Wesley D. Adams Innovation Park North and South, located in the Solo Mountain area of Apex Industrial Park. The site is home to Moonwater West, a state-of-the-art industrial facility; a DHL logistics building that is under construction; and a planned Hopwell Development project.  Hundreds of acres await development, with natural gas service available to the site.

On the Las Vegas Strip, we are supporting Caesars Palace’s latest expansion that includes a 46,000-square-foot Roman-themed dayclub and a major enhancement to the existing Omnia Nightclub. The venue will feature multiple pools, cabanas, and a DJ booth, prominently positioned at the front of the resort and extending toward the Las Vegas Strip via a 78-foot pedestrian bridge.

A Growing State, A Growing Need

As Nevada’s economy diversifies, energy demand is rising, particularly from industries requiring high-capacity, year-round power.  In northern Nevada, mining and manufacturing are expanding to support next-generation technologies, including electric vehicles. In the south, large entertainment venues, medical campuses, and planned data centers are creating new and evolving energy needs.

These industries—especially energy-intensive, AI-powered data centers—require infrastructure that is resilient, scalable, and reliable. Natural gas delivers a stable, efficient foundation that complements renewable energy sources and supports continuous operations, particularly during peak demand.

Commitment to Community

As Nevada continues to grow, Southwest Gas remains committed to leveraging our safe, reliable natural gas service and supporting our community partners to foster economic growth, innovation, and sustainable communities for generations to come.

We’re proud to be a partner in progress, fueling Nevada’s future one connection at a time. To learn more about Southwest Gas, please visit http://www.swgas.com/
