Derrick Hill Named Chairman of LVGEA Board of Directors

LAS VEGAS — The Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA) proudly welcomes its incoming Chairman of the Board, Derrick R. Hill, vice president of Cox Business. Hill was unanimously elected by the board, known as the “LVGEA 50,” on Nov. 1 to serve as chairman beginning Jan. 2019.

The largest business board of its kind in Nevada, the LVGEA 50 is made up of a diverse group of public and private sector leaders dedicated to driving the Greater Las Vegas community and economic development efforts to strengthen the region, create new jobs and spur capital investment.

“I am honored to serve as LVGEA board chairman and excited about leading this dynamic organization and other committed strategic partners whose insight embodies the spirit of our vibrant and diverse region,” said Hill, vice president of Cox Business.

“We will deepen our collaboration with new legislative leadership, municipalities and business organizations to grow the economy through innovative solutions and policies that attract new companies and industries to the Southern Nevada region. I would like to thank outgoing Chairman John Delikanakis for his leadership that positioned us for continued regional growth and success.”

Hill, vice president of Cox Business in the Las Vegas market since 2013, joined the LVGEA 50 in 2014 serving as vice-chairman and secretary the past two years.

The graduate of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University is responsible for the overall strategic direction of Cox Business including Hospitality Network, an affiliate of Cox Business in Las Vegas. He has additionally graduated from executive education programs at the Harvard Business School, Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and the University of Georgia.

The LVGEA 50 also appointed new members to serve in other roles as subcommittee chairs. In Jan. 2019, the following individuals will begin their term on the board’s executive committee:

  • Committee Chair—Compensation: Jason Bruckman, Regional Vice President of Workforce Recruitment at Eastridge Workforce Solutions
  • Committee Chair—Nominating and Governance: Clark Wood, Market President of Southern Nevada Gaming at U.S. Bank
  • Committee Chair—Public Policy: Glenn Christenson, Managing Director of Velstand Investments
