Kim Sonerholm is President and Chief Executive Officer of UnitedHealthcare for Nevada, Utah, and Idaho with responsibilities across commercial, individual and Medicaid businesses. She has over 30 years of experience in the health care industry and has held many leadership roles across the health care continuum from network contracting to sales/account management. Most of her career was spent in Las Vegas where she joined Sierra Health Services in 1993 and stayed on following the acquisition by UnitedHealthcare to continue to expand into roles in the larger organization.

Prior to accepting her current role, Kim was the CEO for UnitedHealthcare’s commercial business in Indiana and Kentucky where she spent four years based in Indianapolis working across providers and clients to enhance the care delivery experience by partnering to bring a more integrated solution to the market.

As CEO, she is responsible for strategic initiatives, sales, account management, clinical services, community relations, product management and finance for UnitedHealthcare’s products including Health Plan of Nevada (HPN), Sierra Health and Life (SHL) and UMR.

Kim is focused on bringing innovation and enterprise capabilities to enhance the experience of our consumers, clients, brokers, and providers, bringing her many years of experience across multiple markets to drive improved outcomes.

Outside of the office, Kim is married to her high school sweetheart, and they have two adult daughters. Her and her husband enjoy traveling, hiking, spending time with family, exploring new places to eat and spoiling their two senior dogs.
