Amanda VanConant is LVGEA’s Digital Marketing Manager. She earned her BFA in Graphic Design from Grand Valley State University, where her love of color theory, hand lettering, printmaking, and infographics flourished. In 2012 she joined the award winning climate journalism team at Circle of Blue as a design intern, and her collaborations on the global water crisis were presented at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland.
In 2015, Vox brought her to Washington, DC to build graphics for its Snapchat Discover team ahead of the 2016 presidential election. Working at the speed of breaking news, she became Vox’s first Social Graphics Designer and later Associate Design Editor. She brings that experience to LVGEA, where she designs the reports, campaigns, and event materials that show companies why Southern Nevada is one of the best places in the country to grow.
Amanda keeps a mantra from her favorite musician and travel writer, Neil Peart, close at hand: “What is the most excellent thing I can do today?” Southern Nevada offers no shortage of excellent things to choose from. Outside of work, she explores the city and nearby national parks with her husband, plays drums, rollerblades, and gardens with the assistance of renowned horticulturalist Vino the cat.
