K-12 students across the Las Vegas Valley have access to incredible educational opportunities. The Clark County School District (CCSD) is the nation’s fifth-largest district, meaning there are endless school choice options for your family. The public school system consists of more than 370 diverse schools, including nationally recognized magnet schools and Career and Technical Academies, with 90 private schools offering a range of educational curriculum. Additionally, there are top-tier charter schools that create personalized, small classroom opportunities for students to achieve their wildest collegiate and post-graduate dreams.

NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED MAGNET SCHOOLS

CCSD offers 40+ magnet school and 7 Career & Technical Academies, encompassing 100 programs of study. The majority of the district’s magnet school are recognized annually for their academic excellence, with Southeast Career and Technical Academy in Henderson even being named the top magnet school in the country in 2022.

NEVADA’S CHARTER SCHOOLS OUTPERFORM

An independent analysis of national data process students attending one of Nevada’s 80 charter schools outperform their national peers on the nation’s biggest tests. Parents can choose to send their children to one of the region’s 80 charter schools, which are public schools funded by the state, and free for any family to apply to.

PUBLIC SCHOOLS

More than 300,000 students attend CCSD’s public schools. In addition to its magnet schools the district also offers a wide variety of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, STEAM, and performing arts programs.

PRIVATE SCHOOLS

Families can also choose form more than 90 private K-11 schools in the Las Vegas Valley, which follow the same academic requirements as public schools. Some private schools are connected to religious organizations while others are sponsored by local business entities.

Higher Education

Las Vegas is home to eight major higher education institutions, including the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, a top-tier R1 research university. The region’s higher education system offers hundreds of specialized degree and certificate programs to 71,000 students annually. Nevada leaders invest heavily in the state’s education system, recently approving $12 billion in additional funding for higher education programs.
