Southern Nevada is entering one of the most transformative periods in its history. From advanced manufacturing and healthcare campuses to data centers, hospitality investments, clean energy projects, and major public infrastructure, nearly every sector of our economy is becoming more dependent on sophisticated electrical systems and the highly skilled workforce required to build and maintain them.
Today’s electricians do far more than install wiring. They are deploying intelligent building systems, renewable energy infrastructure, electric vehicle charging networks, advanced communications technology, automation, and the electrical backbone that powers modern businesses. As our region diversifies its economy, the demand for this specialized expertise continues to grow.
That growth presents both an opportunity and a responsibility.
For nearly a century, the partnership between the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 357 and the Southern Nevada Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) has helped ensure Southern Nevada has the skilled workforce necessary to deliver complex projects safely, efficiently, and at the highest standard of quality. Together, our contractors and more than 4,000 skilled electrical professionals in Southern Nevada have helped build many of the region’s most recognizable landmarks while continuing to support the next generation of economic development.
Meeting tomorrow’s workforce demands begins with investing today.
Through our Electrical Training Institute of Southern Nevada, apprentices earn while they learn, combining classroom instruction with hands-on experience using the latest technologies shaping our industry. As electrical systems become increasingly complex, continuous education and workforce development have become competitive advantages for both our contractors and the region as a whole.
Southern Nevada’s continued success depends on collaboration between industry, education, labor, business, and economic development organizations. Building the infrastructure that attracts new employers and supports existing businesses requires more than construction, it requires a long-term commitment to developing talent, embracing innovation, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and craftsmanship.
As we celebrate more than 90 years of serving Southern Nevada (and as this Year we honor NECA’s 125th anniversary Nationwide) we remain focused on the future. Whether supporting business expansion, powering critical infrastructure, or preparing the next generation of skilled professionals, the Unionized Electrical Industry is proud to help build the foundation for Southern Nevada’s continued economic growth.
Together, we’re not simply powering buildings, we’re powering the future of our region.
